Community Focus

The community’s help is vital for us to succeed. We try to partner with as many programs and businesses as possible so that our group may accent their’s, in vise versa. These are many of the organizations, programs, businesses, and veterinary clinics that help us achieve our goal, daily. We owe much to these groups and appreciate every opportunity that they have give us.

Our Local Animal Control

Probably one of the teams that we are in the largest debt to, would be our own, local Stanly County Animal Control has a wonderful staff who has allowed us to work together with them in completing many feats. We gain our animals most often from their system. That being how we gained our mass intake of dogs, quite recently. We work with them to help save that animals who we believe are most in need and truly deserve that second chance.

Local Veterinarians

Along with many businesses, we are extremely grateful to a few certain veterinary clinics. Bear Creek Mobile Veterinary Service and Cabarrus Spay/Neuter Clinic currently do most of our basic veterinary work. If more intensive care is necessary, we will often turn to Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital. These clinics have remained by our side and we are happy to work so closely with them.

A New Leash On Life

The “A New Leash On Life” program is run statewide throughout North Carolina. In our own community, we have the Albemarle Correctional Institution working with us by having us bring in six dogs every eight weeks. Professional trainers come in to teach the inmates how to work with the dogs. From the trainers’ teachings, the inmates work with the dogs each day teaching them all basic commands and then a few more special tricks.

The program helps the dogs as much as it helps the inmates. The inmates learn many bonding skills and can gain a friend throughout the process of teaching. The dogs learn many obedience skills and become the most wonderful of pets.

Businesses

Many corporate businesses like to donate the supplies that we need to maintain the care necessary for our animals. Food Lion and Wal-mart are generous to donate many of their pet food bags and other supplies that have not been properly packaged or gained some sort of damage. Other businesses often times like to place bins to gain monetary or other donations to later give to us. Also, some establishments have allowed us to hold our adopt-a-thons on their property, such as Tractor Supply. No matter what form of help businesses give us, we greatly appreciate it and would not be here without it.

"Dog Training In Your Home"

We would like to take a moment to thank Mark Thompson, the primary dog trainer for the inmates at the Albemarle Correctional Institution. He is the founder of the amazing, “Dog Training In Your Home”. We highly recommend him for all your dog training needs.
