Volunteers are essential and often in short supply. You might be tasked with helping to feed, water or provide human contact for the animals in our care. You might be helping us with cleaning cages and kennels or watching over animals at an adoption event. Some volunteers also help with transporting animals back and forth between foster homes, adoption events or veterinary clinics.
Some of our cats can be accommodated at our cat adoption facility, but nearly all other animals in our care are placed in foster homes prior to being adopted. This is why our foster homes are so important to our mission. To ensure a positive experience most foster homes care for only 1 or 2 animals at a time.
Foster parents provide food and shelter for their foster animal(s) and transportation to adoption events or veterinary appointments. The Stanly County Humane Society covers all medical expenses for the animals. If interested in becoming a foster parent, the process begins with us learning a little about your home, lifestyle and your previous experience caring for animals.
If interested in becoming a volunteer, in any capacity, please complete the application form below. If there are other activities that you would be interested in volunteering for, please note them within the comments section. Your privacy is very important to us and your information will be protected.
Help sponsor a Dog or Cat with a one-time or monthly donation as we strive to find them a new, forever home. Our community’s devotion to the lives of animals is truly what keeps us going. Thank you for your support!
